Information We Collect When you use the PLANETUP Site, we may collect the following types of information: Information you provide - When you register for Membership, we ask you for personally identifiable information ("PII"), including your name, street address, e-mail address and an account password. We collect PII to authenticate Users seeking Membership and to send Members notifications about the Site. You can decline to submit PII, in which case PLANETUP may not be able to provide Membership to you. We also collect other profile data including but not limited to personal interests, gender and age in order to assist Users and Members in finding and communicating with each other. PLANETUP cookies - When you visit the Site, we send a small file to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. This file is called a cookie. We use cookies to improve the quality of our Site by storing your preferences to share user trends about how people utilize the Site. User communications - When you send e-mail to PLANETUP, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our Site. You own your PII, and we own what you decide to share with us. We'll do our best to remove any PII that is personally attributable to you within 10 days. Within fourteen (14) days of the termination of your membership for any reason, you may request in writing, that we make your PII available to you for downloading. We will, within thirty (30) days of receipt of your request, send to you via electronic mail a link which will allow you to download all of your PII stored on our server. The link will only be active for thirty (30) days from the date it is sent to you, and you must download all PII before the expiration of the thirty (30) days. PLANETUP will only provide the link to the Member's PII to the email address identified in the Member's Profile. If we do not receive a written request from you regarding your PII within fourteen (14) days of termination of your membership, we reserve the right to destroy your PII and/or remove it form our Servers. Requests for return of PII received after fourteen (14) days of termination of your membership will be rejected. PLANETUP Members may modify or remove any of their PII at any time by logging into their Member Account and accessing the feature that allows you to edit your profile. Ways We Use Information We hold the PII we collect from you and other users in aggregate form - similar to a counter - to compare website activity information about all of PLANETUP's users collectively. We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information, such as the number of PLANETUP users who searched for a particular term or watched a particular Message, for example. In addition to the above, PLANETUP will process your PII for the following purposes: Providing our Site to you, including the display of customized Content and advertising; Auditing, research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our Site; Ensuring the technical functioning of our network; and Developing and offering new services. With the exception of inviting friends, adding friends, and notifications, a Member's email address is not shared or displayed to people within a Member's personal network. Members within a personal network communicate on PLANETUP with each other through the PLANETUP Site, without disclosing their email addresses. Members' full names are never directly revealed to other Members by PLANETUP. To facilitate searching for and finding friends and acquaintances on the Site, PLANETUP allows Users to search for Members using User Names or by simply browsing through other people's friends with the purpose of finding friends in common or making new friends.
